Central Florida regional water supply webinar set for late August

The Central Florida Water Initiative regional water supply plan team will present a free, interactive webinar about the development of a regional water supply plan for the Central Florida area at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 29.

The webinar includes an overview of the CFWI, highlights of the regional water supply planning process, a question-and-answer session and information on how to become involved in the process.

The St. Johns River, South Florida and Southwest Florida water management districts are working collaboratively with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, local governments and regional utilities to address near and long-term water supply needs in the central Florida region.

Through the CFWI, the agencies are engaging stakeholders in the development of a regional water supply plan for the area, which includes Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole and southern Lake counties.
