Joseph Ullo has been named as the new director of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Waste Management, effective Oct. 13, 2015. He replaces Jorge Caspary as division director. Caspary resigned earlier this month to pursue other opportunities after four years with the agency.

Ullo has over 20 years of environmental industry experience in the engineering and legal fields. Between 1994 and 2003, he oversaw remedial activities at facilities across the state. Since 2006, he has worked as an environmental attorney representing public and private sector clients in the areas of waste management, cleanup and site redevelopment.

Ullo received a bachelor of civil engineering degree from Georgia Tech, a bachelor of science degree from Spring Hill College, a master of science degree in civil engineering and a juris doctor from Florida State University.
