FRC 2012: A big success in many ways

Thanks to everyone who helped make FRC 2012 our best conference in its 18-year history.

Over 500 participants were on hand for the two-day event that featured 90 exhibitors, two full days of solid technical sessions, a saxaphone-infused reception and a well-attended and supported golf outing before the conference that raised $20,000 for Kids Beating Cancer.

The conference was conducted at the Caribe Royale Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando. Based on comments from this year's participants, we will be returning next year for FRC 2013.

FRC 2012 moves to the Caribe Royale

The 2012 Florida Remediation Conference will be conducted at a new venue--the Caribe Royale in Orlando. The Caribe is a top-notch venue, well suited to the size and needs of our participants.

The Caribe Royale was the site of the 2nd Annual FRC event 15 years ago, before the adjacent convention center was constructed. The new facility has plenty of room to accommodate the 2012 event and lots of space for future growth.

Save the dates for the 18th Annual Florida Remediation Conference: October 11-12, 2012.

DEP's Brown to join us at FRC 2011

Robert Brown, PE, was recently named as the new chief of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Petroleum Storage Systems.

He has made plans to join us at the 2011 Florida Remediation Conference to share his perspective about his new role with the agency, and ideas for streamlining processes and getting more contaminated sites closed.

Brown, a professional engineer, has worked with the DEP cleanup team for the past three years where he reviewed remedial action plans, operation and maintenance reports and pilot tests, and promoted the reuse of state-owned equipment that has led to reusing more than 100 cleanup systems.

He will take part in a panel discussion moderated by Glenn MacGraw, principal with The FGS Group in Tallahassee, on Day Two of the conference.

Make plans now to be with us in Orlando on Oct. 13-14, 2011, for FRC 2011. Call (407) 671-7777 for more information.
